 | Born on an apple-farm in rural Washington State, USA. Alumnus of American University, Washington D.C. Joined the Peace Corps and lived and worked for many years in Southeast Asia. Taught English at Universitŕ di Bergamo, Italy. Now retired, he lives in Pradalungua, near Bergamo.
